Issue 41 of D365 Marketing Weekly

Hi lovely reader,

It’s Valentine’s week, and this issue is full of love for Marketing (no change there then ❤️). We’ve got a new release for February from Microsoft, and lots of great content from the community. Make sure you check out all the posts, and share with your colleagues to earn referrals swag! Just make sure you use your own unique sharing link to do so.

As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by emailing [email protected]. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.

Now let’s get on with the newsletter!

Providing Security Access To Users For Realtime Form Ownership

MEGAN V. WALKER

Using Realtime Marketing Forms from Customer Insights Journeys on your website provides a quick and seamless way to have new Leads and Contacts created automatically in Dynamics 365. It’s good to know that when a new record is created, the owner of that record will be whomever owns the Marketing Form. Rather than giving Sales people an out of the box security role for Marketing (which I have seen many times), consider creating a new specific role for Marketing Form Ownership. This post will walk through the access needed. Let’s jump in!

List Segment Members from Customer Insights - Journeys in Power Automate

AMEY HOLDEN

Amey is getting fancy and complex in this post. She has a great use case of performing a bulk update or deletion of Contacts who have hard bounced on or more marketing emails. This article might give you some ideas of your own for reasons you might want engage with Power Automate instead of always using a Segment to deal with your data.

Using Additional Matching Strategies On Realtime Marketing Forms

MEGAN V WALKER

For your Realtime Marketing Forms, there are two options out of the box for determining what happens when someone fills out the form. You can either have a new record created every single time, or you can try and find a matching existing record via the email address field to update it if one exists (otherwise, create a new record). Did you know you can add other options, and set a different matching strategy for each form? In this post we will look at adding a new matching strategy and then how to use it on a form.

Happy Birthday! Create a journey for birthdays

PAULINE KOLDE

A great post from Pauline on creating a journey for birthdays. It gives you a perfect example that you could then use to send reminders, or anniversary of a customer, or expiration dates etc. So make sure to check this one out and see how this approach might work for you and your audience members!

Send an email to specific list of customers instead of creating new segments in dynamics 365 marketing real time marketing

MALLA REDDY

A nice little post from Malla, focusing on the SEND NOW feature in D365 Customer Insights - Journeys. Good to understand how it works, and what some of the limitations are of this feature. It’s great to use in some circumstances but definitely not all the time. Look forward to reading more from you Malla!

The next chapter of our Gemini era

GOOGLE

Similar to Microsoft, it looks like Google likes to rename things. I shared information about Bard last year which is kind of Google’s answer to ChatGPT. Looks like Google have decided to rename things and Bard is now called Gemini. It coincides with a new app coming to Android, and the article below explains what their ‘new Gemini era’ is all about.
