Issue 7 of D365 Marketing Weekly

Some great content out this week in the land of Marketing! I’ve got a couple of blog posts I put out, an episode of the MSDW Podcast for you to listen to, an upcoming event in Belgium, using Microsoft Clarity with GA4, making sure you ARE worried about GA4 and a study that identified ‘Direct’ traffic to your website could be getting overreported.

As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by emailing [email protected]. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.

Now let’s get on with the newsletter!

The following relate to news and articles about Dynamics 365 Marketing

Create A Simple Auto Responder Email Journey In Real-time Marketing

MEGAN WALKER

One of the most common requirements when using the D365 Marketing App is to have an email sent to the submitter when they fill out a marketing form. Consider someone submitting a form to request a Case Study or White Paper asset. You can provide a link to the document once they submit the form, but what if they close their browser and then lose their access to the download? I wrote a blog post on the easiest way to do this.

Using Conditional Content in Content Blocks in D365 Marketing

MEGAN WALKER

I had a question the other day where someone asked if Conditional Content was possible in a Content Block. I assumed yes, but figured I should check just in case. Phew, I was right, you can! This is in Real-time Marketing only. This one is pretty straightforward to do, so a quick post. Let’s take a look at creating a Content Block to display a hero image in an email and change it based on a relationship type field on the Contact record.

Improving Your Data-Driven Email Marketing with Dynamics 365

MSDW PODCAST

I noticed an episode of the Microsoft Dynamics World Podcast featuring fellow MVP Rick McCutchen, and Owner and Chief Strategist of BetterAve, Jessica Best. Interesting conversation and observations understanding how putting data to work will provide effective email marketing campaigns and understanding of how to improve your efforts.

Power Community are putting on the D365 Customer Experience Summit in Brussels, Belgium on June 24th 2023. This is a whole event covering Customer Service, Moni Channel, Sales, Chat Bots & A.I., and of course Marketing! The day before they also have included a D365 Marketing Bootcamp, which is a 1 day crash course in D365 Marketing Automation. Sounds like it will be a fantastic event!

How to use Microsoft Clarity with GA4 (Google Analytics 4)

OPTIMIZE SMART - HIMANSHU SHARMA

I’ve written a ton of articles about Microsoft Clarity in the past, so this post last week from Himanshu Sharma at Optimize Smart caught my eye. This covers getting started with Clarity and making sure it’s set up with Google Analytics 4 (have you transitioned yet?).

Why you should be worried about Google Analytics 4

BE FOUND ONLINE

I saw this article and was happy to see it came from a company I already know of, Be Found Online. They have a fantastic global team, but I’ve been lucky enough to work with members of their marketing team in the UK via Huble. Their post focuses on making sure you don’t wait for the auto-migrate feature to kick in, and to make the move yesterday! Great company to have on your side if you’re looking for experts!

Study finds ‘Direct’ traffic increasingly overreported as more platforms block referrer data

COYWOLF - JON HENSHAW

I found this article really interesting. Anyone who has a website, myself included, wants to know and understand where visitors are coming from. The post shares information from a study that found that traffic referrers are actually being blocked by some social platforms, and allocating your traffic as ‘Direct’, overreporting in this category. Check it out to understand which sites might be obfuscating the referred traffic.
